So We Lost The Red Hoodie...It's Time To Let It Go
During the excitement of our little boy going to Kindergarten Roundup, we lost his new red train hoodie. I've been so upset that I finally found something cute for my little boy to wear, only to have lost it a few weeks later. It's been causing me sleepless nights and causing me to stress out!
Today, I went to sign up for the school carnival and I decided to check the lost & found again. Nope, it wasn't there. Then I went to the Kindergarten cubbies and the kid's coats were gone since they were outside for recess. The entire coat area was cleared. I'm beginning to think it's lost forever.
So as I was leaving, the secretary told me that she would let me know if they found it. She not only went to look in the lost & found, but she also informed the teachers. So if they happen to find the cute choo choo hoodie, I will be one happy camper. But until then, I'm having to learn to let it go. I have to let go of the stress. And after all it's just a hoodie!

Finding My Heart Sisters
"Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing
the impossible." -St. Francis of Assisi
It's about time! I've decided to share my story after 2 1/2 years of trying to process what has happened to me. I AM A HEART ATTACK SURVIVOR!
In January 2013, I decided to make the phone call to the local chapter of Women Heart. Wow! I received the warmest welcome and was mesmerized by the lady on the phone. She too had a heart attack at the age of 41. She invited me to the meetings and I've been going every since the phone call. These ladies are fabulous! What do we have in common? Heart Disease. By going to the monthly meetings, it's helping me open up and share my story.
In February, I decided to attend a few events to celebrate Heart month. My sister and I went to RA Sushi and enjoyed a Go Red martini. All for a good cause of course. While I was having a fabulous time, I realized I need to be an advocate to help educate women. This event was the beginning in "wanting" to telling my story. But first I have to become more comfortable in telling my story. Women Heart is getting me to that point.
Fast forward to April 2013. After trying to connect to the local chapter at the American Heart Association my sister , a nurse, finally made the connection. Our first assignment - Volunteer at the 2013 Go Red for Women Half Day for your Heart. It's the annual American Heart Association luncheon to educate women on heart disease. Finally, I've made a connection with the organization after trying for 2 1/2 years. Then, I met two incredible ladies that belong to the "Heart Club" or "Heart Sisters". I felt like I made a connection. They both are around my age and had a heart attack in their early 40's.

If you really know me, then you know that I love karaoke. In fact, my stage name is Jezebel and my favorite song to sing is Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive". Little did I know that my signature song would be my real life theme song.
